Very famous and appreciated, it’s the Coclearia evening market.
The market is the perfect setting for the many shops open till late; it has become over the year, twenty from its constitution, one of the most popular in Gallura. The term derives from cochlea, shell, the symbol of the market.
From June to September, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. animate the San Teodoro’ summer nights
More than a hundred stands located in the main streets of the centre that becomes a pedestrian area (via Sardegna, via dei Gerani, Largo dei Platani, Piazza Gallura, Largo Emilio Lussu, via Don Gavino Pes, via San Francesco e via del Tirreno).
Colorful, bright, unique nad original objects, local and foreign crafts: red coral of the Miscera’s historical stand, gold, bronze and silver jewellery, green aloe plants, blue, orange and white pottery made by the skilled hands of Nico Russo, t-shirts and gadgets tailored by Angela and Cesare with your favourite images. And again the fantastic scents of Alain’ stand, clogs and shoes made to measure, candies, the delicious nougat from Tonara, the balloons for children, scarves, objects and ethnic furniture of Mandala, the Shiva refined objects and much more.
In the low season protagonists are the members of the Association Arti e Mestieri tedorini that animate Piazzetta Mediterraneo every evening from mid-May to mid-June and from mid- September to mid-October. Just to name a few, the wonderful plants in glass by Alessandra, the soaps by Valentina, corals by Marco, paintings made by hand with recycled materials.
And the fantastic Clio’s workshop, Il Ferro e la Seta (via del Pettirosso). Clio uses the batik technique to make beautiful lamps , home accessories and small items of clothing. The furnishings are then assembled with wrought iron hand made.
